In january of this year I had the last minute opportunity to take another trip out East. We had planned and packed for the UK, but once we got to LAX we realized that due to weather conditions we wouldn't be getting in to Heathrow anytime soon. It was great, though! We rented a car in Jersey and were able to drive up the North Eastern coast - seeing everything from NYC to Salem, MA. My favorite was undoubtedly Connecticut. It's beautiful there and the houses have so much character, something we Californians rarely see these days. The colleges in Massachusetts were also quite endearing. That trip marked the second year that I spent my birthday in NYC.
